Recovery

I'm currently recovering from a sinus infection from h*ll! It has knocked me out for two weeks now. I finally broke down and went to the doctor this afternoon and got some antibiotics, so I should regain my strength shortly.

In the time since my last blog, I've managed to finish Cullen Crowell's baby blanket...

Michael has gotten a new job actually doing what he wants to do. He got his A+ certification several months ago so that he could move from printer/copier/fax repair to computer repair. So Michael will now be your friendly neighborhood computer repairman! YAY!!

Speaking of Michael, he had his 3 month check up with the pulmonologist the other day and he is on the road to recovery. The sarcoids/inflammation in his lungs have noticeably decreased. The doctor has upped his chemo dosage to help alleviate the rest of the pain that he feels daily and to attack the rest of the inflammation in his lungs. Hopefully we'll have a good report next time and who knows maybe in the next year or two we can begin working on establishing a family.

Things have been hectic at work. I've got Texas coming in for an audit in January, not looking forward to it. We're scrambling to finalize balance issues before year end and I've got the occasional moron to deal with but that's the norm.

My sister-in-law sent some new pictures of my nephews the other day and I think I'm gonna have to frame this one... (it's so them!)

I've started a new baby blanket for one of mom's co-workers, so I'll post pictures when it's done. I've also started my Christmas shopping and I can't wait to bring out the Christmas decorations (they're not much, but they're fun anyways!)

Well I guess that's about it for now. Hopefully, I'll get better at blogging more often.

P.S. Lauren I'm sorry I missed out on your baby shower...the above mentioned sinus infection kept me away. I've got a card around here somewhere for you, I just got to remember to get it in the mail! I'm glad you had a good one!

So the exercise regimine is still going strong. I'm playing catch up at work and things at home are crazy right now.

We're gearing up for the end of the year at work and it reminds me everday how close we are to Christmas! It seems like this year has flown by!! I can't believe 2009 is around the corner.

I got a couple new pics from my other SIL of my nephews. They're both the coolest teens I've met in forever! Miss you guys!!

Let's Get Healthy

So we've dived into our "let's get healthy" mode head first! Michael and I are doing the low carb thing at home. Nicole and I are going to the gym on our lunch hour. BSC lets Consolidated have access to their gym here on campus, so it's very convenient and free (that's the best part).

Nicole and I have been doing the work out at lunch thing for about 2 wks now. It's been great. There have been a couple days thrown in there when something came up and I couldn't go, but my approach to it is not to give up when I miss a day just fall right back into the routine. So far so good. I feel a little better and can't wait til I feel a ton better!!

Michael has long and physical days, so he's just sticking to healthy eating. And I'm doing the whole "cooking" thing...of course with Michael as my coach! Every evening when I get home, Michael calls and ask me what I plan on preparing for dinner, and then tells me how to do it. I know that sounds bad, but it's really cute. I love to bake and am good at baking, but I'm not good at preparing real food, so I'm doing my best to learn. I'm even trying new veggies out. The only dark green veggies I would really eat before were broccoli and green beans. We've had asparagus and zucchini, and Michael cooked some purple cabbage but I wasn't brave enough for that. I really like the asparagus and I've had zucchini before but not really by itself....it was really good!

Mom and Dad's house is almost finished, the builder says they should have the keys by Halloween. So I'm building my stamina for the big move! YAY!! I can't wait!! It's gonna be really weird, they've been in the rental house for about a year and I still haven't gotten used to it, so it may take a while to adjust to the new house, but at least it will be big enough for all of our growing family! I can't wait to see the boys...I miss you guys!

It's good to know you guys didn't give up on me in my absence. I just went thru a period there where I had nothing good to say...and you know what momma always says....

Speaking of good things to say....Rosaeca SUCKS!!!!

The dermatologist diagnosed me about a year and a half ago and put me on a couple meds (Oracea and Finacea). At that time he said after a little while if my face keeps doing well then come off the meds and see if I break out again. I spent a little over a year on the medication and came off them in July. Ever since then my face has looked horrid. So I finally went back on the meds and it's starting to clear up again. I'm totally happy with the fact that my face is clearing, but paying for these expensive drugs definitely sucks! I guess I'll take them for another year and then see how it goes.

Working

Michael really loves his new job. He says he works his butt off but for the first time in his life he doesn't mind it and he actually looks forward to going to work. YAY!!! We're settling into the new work routine pretty well. With the other job he only worked a full 40 hr week a few times, so Michael was able to still help me out around the house a lot. Now he leaves before me in the mornings and gets home after me. Both yesterday and today were over 8 hour days. So I've had to get back into the routine of keeping things straight around here. So far we're both really happy with how things are going! It's actually taken some stress off of us as a couple, which is nice!

Dave's Take on the Bail Out

Ok, so Michael and I are both huge Fox News fans and have been listening for days to all of the bail out talk. I'm not an economist so I wasn't quite sure what to think of it all. Today I decided to see what Mr. Ramsey had to say....Dave's Take on the Bail Out

After reading Dave's take on the Bail out I of course had to shoot a few e-mails to my representatives to make my voice heard. I encourage everyone to do the same, no matter what your opinion is! We elected these people, we should make sure they do the job we elected them to do!!

I've also updated my registration in preparation for the big VOTE 08!!

A New Day

I just sent Michael off to his new job!! We're both so excited!! He'll be working for Southeastern Telephone installing VOIP systems. This is his first little baby step away from copier/fax/printer repair into the computer technician line of work. I'm so proud of him and I've got my fingers crossed that it'll be a good day and a fresh start!!

So an update on the house hunting...........it's been put off indefinitely. Without going into detail...lets say the timing for us wasn't right. I'm just hoping this is one of those Garth Brooks' moments...........

1) I can't eat eggs without Ketchup!

2) I cannot stand the smell of greens....and I live with a man that would eat them 3 times a day if you let him. I mean seriously, they make me want to throw up!

3) I've never had split pea soup. My mom was forced to eat it when she was younger so she forbid it in our house. To this day I've taken my mom's word and stayed far far away from split pea soup.

4) I bite my nails when I'm nervous or overly stressed. It drives Michael CRAZY!!

5) I can't stand dirty clothes on the floor and not in the hamper. I'm having to do my best to adjust because I have a hubby that thinks it's stupid that it bothers me so much!

6) I will use all the ink in one pen before I will use another...I don't really know why!

Comedian and Actor Bernie Mac Dies at Age 50

Bernie Mac, an Emmy and Golden Globe nominated actor and comedian, died suddenly Saturday at age 50 of complications from pneumonia.

The comedian suffered from sarcoidosis, an inflammatory lung disease that produces tiny lumps of cells in the body's organs, but had said the condition went into remission in 2005. He recently was hospitalized and treated for pneumonia, which his publicist said was not related to the disease.
