Showcase of Stars

The craft show at the clubhouse in the apartment complex didn't go so well last week.  There were a ton of vendors but not many shoppers at all!!  I didn't bring home anything, no money and no purchases (although there were several things there I would have loved to buy if we had the extra cash).  I'm thinking I'm going to take a break for a while on the crocheting toboggan and scarves.  I've got a few gifts for the new additions to the Crowell family that I'm going to try and work on and Monica's blanket.  Other than that I'm going to cool it for a while.  Maybe this summer, I'll be able to start stock piling yarn and working up the left overs I already have and build an inventory for some of the craft shows next winter in the area.  I've got to do some research on that also.  I know all the big shows, but they usually charge you a fee for your booth and sometimes there are waiting lists to get booths.  So I'm going to keep my ears open and read the paper and see if I can find any smaller shows to sink my teeth into.

Just start walking

So that's what I'm told by 9 out of 10 doctors!  It's just lovely being overweight and to be told that all I have to do is just start walking by people that have probably never had a weight problem in their whole life!  However, I digress.  I wasn't actually angry with what the OBGYN told me last week, it's probably the fact that I just got done walking for 15 mins in the cold, not fun!  Anyway, I had my annual and the OBGYN said if I want to get pregnant in the near future I have to start an exercise regimen now, so hence the walking for 15 mins in the cold.  It still varies from day to day wether or not I want to have children, but I figured it wouldn't hurt Lusie to walk a little more than enough to go potty and back in the mornings.  I figured it might actually help her get some of her puppy energy out.

Just start walking....I'll keep you posted, hopefully I can make a routine out of this!

Happenings

Without going into detail here, Michael lost his job at Regions.  It was over something that we're both still very confused about, but at this point there's nothing we can do but move forward.  So we're back on the job hunt for him.  I'm still very proud of him and I hope he doesn't have too much difficulty finding another job that will fit him.  He really didn't fit in the banking industry anyway!

Michael and I have traded off on the back problem issues.  I got my pain block last Friday and by Sunday I was up doing laundry and dishes.  I still had several sore muscles during the week, but I'm almost back to 100%.  Now Michael is having back pain.  So we're crossing our fingers that the pain management people can handle his too.  We'll see how that goes.

Michael called his pulmonologist last week after not hearing from him and he said he can come off the chemo and see how it goes.  I'm super excited about this cause not only does it mean that he's recovering from the Sarcoidosis but it also means that perhaps his immune system can build back up and he won't be nearly as sick now.  I'm saying my prayers and keeping my fingers crossed.

I've been crocheting like crazy to make some extra money to help us make ends meet in the mean time.  They are having a craft show here at my apartment complex on December 3rd.  So I'm seriously considering taking my stuff up there to sell.  I've got several boxes of hats and scarves made up with no buyers, so I think it may give me a chance to sell them.  If things go well perhaps I'll make up a bunch of baby supplies for next year as well.  Here are a few of my latest creations.  Of course I have many more posted on my facebook page.

Something to be thankful for....

While it has felt like the walls are falling in around us the last couple weeks, we did receive news today to be thankful for....Michael is coming off his chemo treatment!  YAY!!  There is the posibility that things won't go well and he'll have to go back on, but I'm keeping my thoughts hopeful and I'm praying he doesn't ever have to take another treatment again!!

Where has the time gone???

It's only been a couple of weeks, but it's been a crazy couple of weeks!

After several thousand dollars we've finally gotten the blue beast (Michael's car) back from the shop and cross our fingers, it's running fine.  It originally went in because of the breaks locking up and something about a busted axle, and there were several other things wrong.  Well after fixing all of that, then we had to put a new transmission in it, and we've continued to have problems with the mechanics not hooking everything up correctly with the new transmission.  Michael got it back yesterday after another trip into the dealership, so we're hoping that it continues to run just fine.  Otherwise I think I might just have to light a match to it!!!  I HATE CARS!!!

Michael started his job at Regions Bank on Monday and so far he's liking it!  He's in their IT department and he's still settling in.  Here's a picture of his name plate on the outside of his cubicle....

He's so proud, this is his very first cubicle!!

I've been laid up since last Friday because I've got something going on with my back.  The urgent care doctor thought it was just a muscle spasm but I'm thinking it's worse, much worse!  I've got an appointment with the orthopedic tomorrow morning at 8 and I'm sure he's going to want to do an MRI to see what's going on.  Right now I'm doped up with pain meds, so excuse the post if it doesn't make since.  I went to work on Monday and made it thru the day, but I haven't gone back since, cause of the pain.  I hate to hurt and I'm a big cry baby!!  Just ask Michael he'll tell you how big of a cry baby I am!!

Other than that there's not much else going on, pray for me that I don't need back surgery again!

Not Much

There really hasn't been a whole lot going on the past couple of weeks, but I thought I would share what I can remember.

I'm headed to Decatur today for John's birthday celebration!

We're having a baby shower for Nicole at work and I can't wait!!

Michael got a new job with Regions, he was offered it last week and he's supposed to start on November 2nd, SUPER YAY!!!  I'm really really excited for him.  He'll be a technician that travels to branches if they need help with any of their computers, etc.  It's a job in a real IT department and I think he's looking forward to that!

Here's a couple pictures I took last week...

They both woke up just as I took the picture!!!  They were too cute napping together!  My little girl is getting to big too!!

All curled up right where she knows she's not supposed to be!

Sips 'n Strokes

Heather (my co-worker) and I went to Sips 'n Strokes to paint the New Moon flower.  It's supposed to look like the cover art of the book.  About all I can say is that atleast you can tell it's a flower!!

Excuse our appreance...it is a Monday after all!

Doctor's Reports and Gaming

Michael had a great report back from the Pulmanologist and we should know next week if he'll be able to come off the chemo.  I got released from the ENT and just have to irrigate 2xday indefinately!  I was a little frustrated about the irrigation, but I suppose I can make it a permanant part of the routine.

Michael and I have been playing a new game called Aion.  We're really enjoying it so far.  Since that's how we spend a good chunk of our time I thought I would share some pictures.

Those are our characters (avatars).

That's mine again.

This is our friends John and Jaydyn.  John is Michael's friend in real life.  Jaydyn is an online friend that lives in Canada.

A fighting shot.

Michael's character flying.

P.S.  We still don't have Michael's car back from the shop, it'll probably be Wednesday or later.  But at least it's getting fixed and work has let me have temporary use of a company car!

Just when you think things are calming down....

Michael's car blew up today and we've arranged for it to be towed in the morning to the dealership.  Wonderful....
